Our Environment
At Broomhill Nursery we ensure an environment where children's wellbeing is supported through interactions that are emotionally supportive and responsive. We are a home from home setting, with spaces that are open ended and yet structured. Being active and outdoors is a vital part of a healthy life therefore we strive to create safe, nurturing and inspiring indoor and outdoor learning environments, enabling children to seamlessly learn and develop wherever they are. We are active members of our local community giving all our children a sense of belonging within their local area.
Our Practice
At Broomhill Nursery we follow national practice guidance which builds upon the principles of Pre Birth to Three, Realising the Ambition and Curriculum for Excellence. We take pride in providing a setting where children follow their own interests and curiosities. Each and every day children are offered fun and exciting opportunities aimed at stimulating and developing social, physical, emotional and intellectual skills. Quality assurance and self evaluation at every level ensures that we are continually assessing and improving our practice to improve outcomes for the children.
Our Staff
At Broomhill Nursery we aim to select and recruit a highly skilled, competent workforce. Our experienced team of managers are committed to leading our staff whilst driving the nursery forward and maintaining our excellent standards. Our core staff team have worked together for over ten years, cementing the shared ethos we have in providing the best start for all children. All staff are PVG registered and hold a professional registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) We believe all children who attend Broomhill Nursery deserve the very best possible start to their lives.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Nurseries are open from 7:45 am – 5:45pm.
Fees are based on a 9.5 hour day, core hours to be discussed and agreed in advance.
We operate 50 weeks of the year with a 2 week break over Christmas and New Year. We also close on local Aberdeen Public Holidays – 4 Mondays per year.
We are in partnership with Aberdeen City Council and offer funded places.
